I’m moving from CO to Sacramento, CA soon and I’ll be getting a new set up to tackle steelhead/ Salmon/ and Large mouth. Looking at Sage Sonic and Orvis Recon in 8wts as options. Any other recommendations around the $500 mark? Also, if I were to buy the rio steelhead/ salmon line, could this be used to throw some streamers for large mouth as well, or should I invest in a spare spool with different line? Any advice would be appreciated

Why anyone would move from CO to SACcrazy is beyond me. That being said, the 8wts are a good choice for salmom. I would fuse a 6 or 7 for the steelhead unless you are fishing the North Coast. Don't forget the shad that run on the Sac River. A 6wt and a shooting head are good for fthem.
