I am new to the Seminole, Indian rocks Beach, Florida area. Recently retired from Chi. Somewhat temporarily laid up due to an orthopedic recovery issue. Living on a canal, outflow of the intercoastal waterway. Currently limited to dock and shore fishing in that canal. Gathering information, baits, lures, tides/times,etc. Tips/feedback?
Welcome Ted to the fishingstage. I'm across Pinellas from you and presently bank fishing. My bait of choice is bacon right now. The Red fish and Black Drum have left the area so I've targeted cats. Both sail & Hardheads. The hardheads are pretty good marinated and smoked, the sail cats I fry for supper. If you have piles holding up your dock if you scrape the barnacles & oysters off to get the Sheepheads feeding and use a small hook with a piece of squid free lined can produce. Since the Red Tide Trout Red fish and Snook are catch and release for us around here. I enjoy catching lizards and tieing them on a hook and flipping them under the Mangroves that hang over the water. Snook will explode out of the water dor that treat. But C&R.
