The Flint River and the Chattahoochee River converge to make up Lake Seminole. You will need non-resident licenses for Florida and Georgia, because the lake encompasses both States with no reciprocal arrangements many other States make possible in this type of situation.
Be prepared to encounter heavy concentrations of Hydrilla in the lake itself, with less in the River channels. Colder weather has helped improve this situation, so you can fish in more areas that are accessible now.
I would recommend RattleTraps and ChatterBuzz lures in Shad and Crawfish colors. I have better luck with the red RattleTraps, but that’s just me; with white and silver for the ChatterBuzz. Jerk Baits in Shad colors where you can find the Hydrilla deeper can also be effective now with slow sweep presentations
For the soft baits, I like the Water Melon color Flukes( I think 4 inch size) and finesse them with no weights. White color also works well for me.
Havoc Lures makes a bait called a “Pit Boss” in a crawfish color that I sometimes use as a Jig trailer, but finesse fish it like the Fluke, except use a 3/16 oz. bullet sinker around dead lily pad stems and holes in the Hydrilla in deeper water.
If you don’t have a map of this reservoir, almost any Walmart in the area will have one for just a few bucks......Marianna, Quincy, Bainbridge, to name a few.
Hope you catch a bunch, JBass.
If I can be of any more help, shoot me an email or contact me through fishingstage. I’ve been fishing Seminole for about 50 years now, and I’m still learning how to fish this ol’ gal!!! lol

Ive talked with guys who recommend cranking the edge of the old river bed. Is this a good tactic? Everyone recommends the rattle traps and chatterbaits. Thanks for the help, appreciate it.

Cranking the old river channel will be a good idea. There will be large mats of hydrilla on both sides of the channel and I have caught some decent bass around these mats with shad color swim baits. I have not done much cranking in the lake and if there is a lot of wind, Seminole can get really rough in a hurry because it is shallow water on the Florida side where the old river channel is primarily located. I prefer to crank the Chattahoochee river side where there are many deep cuts on the West and East side of the river from old creeks and submerged roads. The Flint river side is just about always more clear than the “Hooch”, especially the Spring Creek area.
A word of caution for both sides of the lake.....lots of stump fields, so pay attention to your maps! This does not mean to avoid fishing around the stumps, just be careful. Hope you catch a bunch, but leave a few for seed.....lol
