Another good reason to have a concealed weapons permit.

Florida Woman Stops Alligator Attack Using a Small 22 cal Beretta Pistol:

This is a story of self-control and marksmanship by a brave, cool-headed woman with a small pistol against a fierce predator.

What's the smallest caliber that you would trust to protect yourself?

Here's her story in her own words:

"While out walking along the edge of a pond just outside my house in The Villages with my soon to be ex-husband, discussing property settlement and other divorce issues, we were surprised by a huge 12-ft. alligator which suddenly emerged from the murky water. It began charging us with its large jaws wide open. She must have been protecting her nest because she was extremely aggressive. If I had not had my little Beretta .22 caliber pistol with me, I would not be here today!

Just one shot to my estranged husband's knee cap was all it took. The gator got him easily, and I was able to escape by just walking away at a brisk pace. The amount I saved in lawyer's fees was really incredible. His life insurance was a big bonus!”

wasn't expecting that could have shot the alligator. On swamp people they shoot alligators with 22 rifle just have to hit them in the right place

I questioned the.22 Beretta as a Gator Gun, didn't see the ending coming. Just another version of "I don't have to outrun the bear, I only have to outrun You!"
Good one BB!

well here's an old one they tried to teach us in JWTS. if the gator is gonna get ya shove your arm as far down their throat as you can and grab a fist full. if you do it correctly they will immediately release you and retreat to repair their throat. did it with a dog once , worked pretty good . big ass Shepard was totally freaked out . laid on his back with his legs up (surrender) I just bared my teeth and he took off. dog owner was not happy with me.....@FN bad,

Well, I do own a .22 Sig replica 1911 pistol, but the weapon I carry everywhere is a 9 mm Sig.

If I was expecting trouble I would carry my .357 S. & W. Revolver w/ 8 3/8 bbl. or 12 ga. Winchester Model 12 pump, or both! Just Sayin...RJS
