That coin should have TAILS on both sides Plum. I will be fishing this year. Just waiting for spring to arrive here.

Work or fish ? Sometimes you
just don't have an option (if you still want to pay the rent) ! Back around '05/'06 I was working as
a 'flagger' for power line, phone line and construction crews,
trying to keep everyone safe on
the road - it was an 'on call'-type position ! Most days, if I hadn't
yet gotten a call by 8:00 AM, I could usually count on being 'off' that day - but not always !
One beautiful spring morning around 8:30 AM, no one had called, so I decided to try my
luck on some 'smallies'; about
45 minutes and about a dozen casts later, I hooked into a
beauty (that I later estimated
to be in the 3-1/2- to 4 -lb. range) and just about the time it's
making its third jump,
MY PHONE RINGS !
Now, I suspect who it might be, but I don't want to lose that bass, nor do I want to accidentally
drop
my phone in the river; keeping
my rod tip up and the line tight,
I back away a few feet from the bank and reach into my pocket
for the phone - sure enough, I'm getting a late call for work and they want me there in 45
minutes ! Told them that I
couldn't possibly be there for
at least an hour as I had to go home for my lunch first - as
soon as they agreed, I hung up and finished landing that
beautiful smallmouth ! So much for a great day on the water, but rent MUST come first; still,
landing that fish really made
my day !
