A beautiful Beagle who was born to follow his nose. That means if something is interesting to his nose whatever you have to say is useless. Things like COME Get over here will fall on deaf ears as long as his nose is interested in something else. Great little dog (I had one once trained for rabbits) Family dog, could be, if you have the patience of Job.

That beagle reminds me of my late Uncle’s dog Daisy. He would bring her along while we were goose and pheasant hunting and Daisy would get on a deer trail and it was over...she was gone for hours. Uncle Ron didn’t get much hunting done, but both sure got their exercise. When the wind was right he could be heard yelling for her 1000yds away. That was almost 50 years ago and still brings a smile. We recommend he bring a pistol along, but she was just a sweetheart.

This is Sam (the Wonderdog)
One month short of 12 years old. She took my Son Brady hunting on one of his days off earlier this season and her normal, workday station as my Head of Security as I work from the Home Office (aka the kitchen table)
Best dog I ever had!

Had 2 beagles, Ginger and Koucha (Hungarian for dog). Hsd Ginger when I was a kid. Got Koucha after I graduated college and had my own apartment. Koucha slept on my bed and when my wife and I started dating she said if you want me in your bed the dog goes. Got rid of Koucha and 48 years later still married, still wishing I kept my dog.

Priceless photos, a 12 year old gsp still hunting is much to admire. Their drive is astounding.

This is ROSEY (Run Or She’ll Eat You) opening her presents Christmas morning. She don’t hunt, ‘cause I don’t hunt anymore, but she loves to go fishing in the boat or on the bank.

On a need to know; Roger Miller said it best with: "If my pappy was a pistol. I'm a son of a gun".

We had a schnoodle when I was growing up . He was jet black but looked like yours. We named him Toby and he lived a good long time. Thinking like 18 years. He like yours was a really spoiled dog as well. Great little dog.

When I was a teenager my cousin and I rabbit hunted the levees South of New Orleans. We would run 6-8 dogs. Killed a lot of swamp rabbits back then. (I'm 76 now). Had a litter that had a pretty female pup. She was missing her right front leg. We never gave a thought about putting her down. I named her tripod and she was as good as any dog we ever had. She lived to be an old lady dying at 11 years old and hunted the season before she died.
