I really want to know all I can about Striper and Salmon fishing in Sacramento and Rio Vista areas. Any help will be most appreciated
Thanks
Mark
Welcome to the stage ,they are a few members from your state and some good striper fisherman
The Delta, Sacramento River, American River, Feather River all hold stripers and salmon at one time or another throughout the year. Throw in shad in the spring and steelhead following the salmon plus channel cats - how can you go wrong? Got a boat? Not having one will slow you down a might, but not much. There are several guys on here who are very experienced with striper and salmon, I'm sure they'll show up. Welcome to the stage 19. And please post some photos when you catch some.

Hey Mark welcome to the stage. I live over by Santa Rosa and don't fish over there where you are askin about. I fish the Petaluma and Napa rivers.
I also want to get together with someone over where you are and fish that area too. Good luck and tight lines.
Pay attention to whatever Saw tells you. Do a search on some of his past posts (Saw1) and look at his photos. Then PM him and ask - "how you do dat?"
Hey, Mark: Belly up to the bar, I mean Forum. You've come to the right place for fishing lore, and savvy advice. Be aware there is also a little bull shipping, but well, after all we are fishermen. Just Sayin...RJS

Hey BD. Thanks so much for that generous offer. Are you familiar enough of the rivers to know WHERE to fish? I'm just not familiar enough of that area to know where to go.
I know the rivers well but I’m no great shakes at fishing...it’s a learning process and I’m learning. Had a few stripers, trolling, spinning and bait casting. No joy on sturgeon and there is about 50 boats a day all on the water right outside my house as the sturgeon apparently here right now....spent some nice uneventful days on the water! Did pull up a brand new delta anchor yesterday when we hauled in ours so not a total zero day!
