Uncle John’s last fish

This is a tribute to my dad’s brother (my uncle John), my friend,mentor and fishing buddy. He passed away last night at the age of 91. The picture was taken this fall on a public pond near home due to his inability to travel any distance comfortably. He’s the last of my parent’s generation and I sincerely hope to be able to fill his shoes.

Sorry to hear about your uncle John. Its tough as we get older to watch a generation of our life mentors leave this life for us to fill their shoes.

Thank you, he was a great guy with an incredible sense of humor even in his last hours. The sweatshirt he’s wearing says “Alcatraz outpatient Psycho Ward”. Makes me laugh and get a little tears eyed every time I look at that picture
