How about trying some Georgia worms or Georgia cat fish stink bait on a treble hook.

Really depends on what hindbof catfish you are talking about.
Channel cats. Chicken livers , night crawlers , stink baits , cut baits
Flatheads , live bait definitely . Chub minnows , Shad, bluegills
Likewise blues. Live fish or cut bait.

Well, I really don't believe Georgia catfish have any different taste than any catfish anywhere in any other state.

So, it really boils down to what you find handy, and of reasonable cost. Some folks go with stink bait, chicken livers, and such. Earthworms are almost a universal bait if you are willing to accept small fish.

My father and I supplied all the catfish for trhe community fish fries for several years with perch, all from 3 to 6 inches long. Catfish love live perch.

From all this, you may begin to get the idea that catfish will eat almost anything and you would be correct. Just Sayin...RJS

Robert you seem as though you're a doggone good fisherman and I enjoy hearing from you so, I'll definately consider your advice over all. I mostly fish for FLATHEADS but occasionally I catch blues but, I appreciate your advice. Keep in touch from time to time and maybe one of these days we'll get to fish together.

For channel cat, my father always did well with bait shrimp. Usually frozen shrimp past it's sell by date. I would even try letting it set out a day or two to make it a stink bait.

Lonnie: I don't consider myself a top drawer fisherman, yes, I've done a lot and have caught some fun fish, but for the record I am not a first level fisherman, by skill.

However, I have been around some very expert fishermen and tried to observe and soak up what they did, how they did it and do that when I fished later. I did a lot by observation, by asking questions, and also by my making a lot of mistakes and trying to learn from those mistakes. You'd never guess it, but you can learn more from failures than successes! Just Sayin...RJS
