I was thinking about naming my poles, and I've already named some of my luckier and more interesting lures. Am I the only one who does this?

If you name your poles or lures, what did you name them and why?

I don't, but whatever makes you happy bud. No harm in doing something to make things special to you.

I do haha, my first rod was gifted to me by a family friend that had an entire room dedicated to all his fishing trophies and pictures. He gave me one of his favorite rods which was a simple yellow/black spinner but it’s never failed me and after a night not long after getting where I landed 5 or so nice sized fish in about 2 hours my bud said it’s like I was using the Master Rod from Pokémon so I decided to keep that name for it. I have another pole that I got gifted to me that’s all black with gold trims and it literally says Black Beauty on it, so I call that one Black Beauty lmao.

I think the names add some fun personality and sentimental value for the future if you keep em for a long time, so If ur thinking about it, go for it.

Don't laugh but I've got a buddy who believed that. I suggested he pick up one for his 12footer, the first time we went out he says "It's not working Fred, it's not telling me which way to go!" I almost fell out of the boat,I laughed so hard.
I guess the nickname "Fish Finder " is a little misleading. LOL :-)

Well different problems for different folks. I never had a problem getting a date. My problem was I lived 15 miles out in the country and getting the family car and enough money scraped together to entertain the chick was my problem. Just Sayin....RJS

I lived a ways out too. Had my own Omega then a 65 Chevy van. Chic's parents didn't want me picking their daughters up in a van with no windows. I worked on Alfalfa farm and had my own DJ business so I had cash. I worked for USO on Military bases a lot.
