I have been trying to post things from YouTube but all I get is the hyperlink. There must be a way

Try sending a Personal Message to Admin. That's where the U-Tube videos come from I think.
They should be able to tell you

go to the you tube you want to post. copy the address. then paste it in your post.

Thanks for the input.
The way I have been doing it is below the video on YouTube it say "share". I click on that and it offers the Link with "copy" next to it. You can copy it from there or it also offers other places like Facebook, Twitter, Email, etc to copy it to.
I copy it then paste it on the forum but only the hyperlink (Url) shows. The good thing is it still allows anyone to open it from the forum but I was hoping to have the Video Thumbnail I guess you call it appear instead of or along with that Link.

If you snap a picture on a phone you post the picture along with it but it wont be a thumbnail....it will be more like a big TOE nail :)

Just scan and save the URL address of the page on which the video appears and then paste it into your message.
