Tiffy and I made a test run to the launch point. I used 2 paddle straps to prevent Tiffy from falling off the kayak going down the road. The tide was low and getting ready to rain so there wasn't any chance of fishing. Tiffy laid down on backrest seat on the way to the launch spot. On the way back she sat up and looked around. Probably Saturday or Sunday we I mean I will load up fishing gear propulsion gear safety gear bait and the goodies for a 3 hour tour. Girlfriend still doesn't like her lifejacket. I don't foresee any problems in the water with her. I will have a leach on her for the first trips. When she gets her sea legs I'll give her run of the yak. I may change the front backrest to the same as I have for myself it should be more comfortable for her and I will try having her ride there to and from.

I hope she doesn't tip the Yak over. She would probably drown. IDK!

Looks good Fin, I see your girlfriend is strapped in. Good luck, I hope she takes to the boat, that would be fun.

Very simple. I found on ebay a drill prop. They ship it to you you install the prop with supplied nut and key. They also send extra nut and key which I glued into the foam cover over the outer tube. The inner rod has flats on it you chuch your battery operated drill to it. Stick the prop in the water and squeeze the trigger on your drill and off you go. The thing will even back the yak up. My Ryobi drill with the better battery ran me against the current about 2 miles and back. The battery still had charge so don't really know how long or far it will go. I will take an extra battery just in case.

Fred she didn't mind at all she sat patiently while I hooked her up both times and I don't foresee a problem on the water. It's to cold here here to venture out. I freeze up when it gets below 50 which it has.

Great, thanks for the information. Looks like it would work well for mixing large pitchers of Margaritas also.

Uhh Fin? Not all dogs are meant to swim.
Perhaps it would be prudent to take her out in the water without the kayak. Let go of her and see how she does. Some dogs can't hold their breath under water.

See if she flips over in her PFD and see if she tires out quickly.

BD---- Tifs PFD has floatation that will flip the 🐕 heads up snot out of thr water. She doesn't swim when we fish but she has stuck her head in the water to either stop minnows from getting chopped up or to grab the bait herself and in the heat of the summer she will lay with her butt and legs in the water.
