I've made suggested changes to my kayak towing bike. I replaced the PVC pipe with 1" square aluminum u-bolted to a 110lb capacity rear luggage rack. The kayak now has good ground clearance. I also got a new seat for the captain. I've also got a rod holder but not installed yet. Girlfriend said don't install one for her. She said she'll ride but won't fish cause she doesn't have thumbs. Hope new tricks are easy. She hasn't ridden in the yak on the street yet. The 🐟 ing been poor. I've got a minnow under a bobber for 2 hours and not a nibble bacon on the bait caster has only caught 1 🐱 but it's seen 2 bites.

The thing only gos in 1 direction forward. There's a headlight on it and I've got a tail light I can hang on the yak. I won't be on any traveled streets. The only trips out of the neighbor was and will be bike alone. No yak.

Definitely looks sturdier Fin, how far to the water? Are you gonna carry your rods on the boat, or the bike? . How about tackle, drinks and snacks for you and your girlfriend?

About 1/4 mile. 1 rod in the yak paddle in yak, all tackle in a doctors without borders bag stuffed in the net bag thats built in the back of the new seat plus a couple cokes. And my Ryobi drill and drill prop. My sister was down when I was going thru chemo and I used the drill prop. It worked so well she didn't have to paddle and I didn't have the stamina. I've got waterproof bags for phone and anything else I can't get wet. Tiffy doesnt like the life jacket and she hasn't ridden in the yak yet but she will sit in it setting in the yard. I think because of trust she has in me it'll work out. I've carried bottle water and offered it to her but she refuses.

On a stringer. I may have to hitch up the stringer as it's 9' long and I'll be using my drill prop and I don't want to run the fish and stringer together. Course I could just put the stringer in the yak while I'm motoring.

You fishing salt water? If so any sharks to be concerned about with the stringer?

It's salt. And yes there are sharks. I caught a 3-1/2' Bull shark in my section of the creek and I hooked a (my guess as it flipped off on the bank and didn't have a close look. To big for my rod so I was backing up to land it) Black tip. I had to back up to land the Bull as well. I've hooked into larger fish as well but never saw them. I fought a fish for 1/2 hour before it broke off. I think that was a stingray the way it fought and ran only God knows.

I don't know how strong that 5' shark is that you are showing, but i sure would be leery of keeping my catch on a stringer. They grab that bait of the day while attached to the yak, pull you over and it's feeding frenzy time.

Nice looking setup Fin, but you can have the Sharks. Only ever hooked one, small hammerhead off a pier in Kauai. It was fun till he cut my line. You stay safe out there!

Plum You are a true fisherman. You even stretched my fish. The Bull shark in the picture was only three and a half foot long.
