Maybe we don't have it as bad as we think

Found something in my inbox this morning that may give us a different view of the Corona virus that's ravaging the word. I think everyone will agree that it’s a mess out there. Hard to discern between what’s a real threat and what is just simple panic and hysteria.

For a small amount of perspective at this moment ---- imagine you were born in 1900. On your 14th birthday, World War I starts, and ends on your 18th birthday. 22 million people perish in that war. Later in the year, a Spanish Flu epidemic hits the planet and runs until your 20th birthday. 50 million people die from it in those two years. Yes, 50 million.

On your 29th birthday, the Great Depression begins. Unemployment hits 25%, the World GDP drops 27%. That runs until you are 33. The country nearly collapses along with the world economy.

When you turn 39, World War II starts. You aren’t even over the hill yet. And don’t try to catch your breath. On your 41st birthday, the United States is fully pulled into WWII. Between your 39th and 45th birthday, 75 million people perish in the war.

Smallpox was epidemic until you were in your 40’s, as it killed 300 million people during your lifetime.

At 50, the Korean War starts. 5 million perish. From your birth, until you are 55 you dealt with the fear of Polio epidemics each summer. You experience friends and family contracting polio and being paralyzed and/or die.

At 55 the Vietnam War begins and doesn’t end for 20 years. 4 million people perish in that conflict. During the Cold War, you lived each day with the fear of nuclear annihilation. On your 62nd birthday you have the Cuban Missile Crisis, a tipping point in the Cold War. Life on our planet, as we know it, almost ended. When you turn 75, the Vietnam War finally ends.

Think of everyone on the planet born in 1900. How did they endure all of that? When you were a kid in 1985 and didn’t think your 85-year-old grandparent understood how hard school was. And how mean that kid in your class was. Yet they survived through everything listed above. Perspective is an amazing art. Refined and enlightening as time goes on. Let’s try and keep things in perspective. Your parents and/or grandparents were called on to endure all of the above & they survived. Now YOU have been called on ..... NOT to stay home & sit on the couch to piss & moan because your constitutional rights are being infringed upon but for the sake of mankind so time to put that dam mask on and "grin and bear it" like those before you did

Good points V B. I see this one going to the attic once the political comments hit this thread. Granted this virus is real and not catching it takes more common sense then a lot of folks want to put into use. Bottom line in my way of thinking is take no chances, don't be stupid about it, and use what the good Lord has provided you with.

Its as Mental as thinking and telling everyone that you won something that you did NOT. But of course someone has always been crooked.

My Grandmother, was born in 1899, she passed away in 1999, 3 weeks shy of turning 100.
We often talked about all of the changes that happened in her lifetime.

Restricting the movements (and forced masking) of sick people is quarantine.

Restricting the movements of (and forcing masking of) healthy people is tyranny.

They’re setting us up for the New World Order.

I am seeing more and more fascism which is a forcible suppression of opposition and strong regimentation of society and of the economy.

and the amazing thing is they bore it all while defending freedom of others and not giving up any of their own of course there was that bit of governmental interference during prohibition but that was for the good of the nation and even though it was repelled if it would have stayed in place think of the 100's of thousands of lives that would have been saved from drunk drivers alone much less other side effects if only they would of in this one time shut up and obeyed and stayed away from the booze instead of rebelling against prohibition. . After all doesn't the safety of those who's lives were impacted by all that drinking out weigh the personal freedom and liberty of the rest. So yes the government knows best so shut up and wear the darn mask

You are exactly right, and DJT threw a monkeywrench in it for them.

That's why they did what they did. Tried for 4 years to impeach him and nothing worked( for obvious reasons) so they just went with plan B. Lie, steal and cheat. What a way to run a country. I ain't playin!!

Remember, when the only alternative remaining is to fight, the primary targets are THOSE WHO GIVE THE ORDERS!

Hitler didn't kill anybody but ordered the deaths of millions. Had he been taken out early the 1940s would have shaped up differently.
