Remember the days when you could watch the evening news and learn something new going on in the world and not just what the network wants you to know what we already know about Politics and the Covid?

Well today i am mixing it up a little.

So rather than focusing on all the negative stuff happening throughout this world today,

I figured it would be better to focus on the things that were great about life instead.

Count your blessings today my friends.

You are absolutely right, plum. We have been watching the news every night, it's has been part of our routine for years and years, and it's is really dumb. Well,,,,,,,,, it wasn't dumb 10 - 12 years, when you could believe the news but now the news is a joke. I'm going to find something to do during that time. It's dark by 5:00 pm. so it to late to walk in the country. What is there to do?

Today’s news is propaganda. I learn more here than any news station.

All so true so rather than look at the News I watch other things such as movies if weather permitting I walk to our private pier fish and sometimes just sit there and meditate and think of all the blessings upon me

I have a good collection of educational channels on cable. I especially like to watch our military history Channel. It gives you an idea of what was involved in making our country as great as it is. I watched one last night on the War of 1812. Why did it start . How did it effect the development of a national identity? Up until then, we were considered a minor inconvenience by the European powers. Old Hickory taught them different at New Orleans. Then there are the cooking shows. I do most of the cooking in my house. I'm the one who taught my two older granddaughters how to use a knife and keep all their fingers. My wife is a good cook, as are my two daughters. I still do Sunday Dinner. I don't need to watch the news to keep busy.

Watch westerns as others have said the news just isn't news anymore.

Then this time well for the last couple months the ads for healthcare, politics must both be big business and money makers for those on the top they sure consume everything.

Flyguy. I have an app on my phone called Sky View Free. After it gets dark point your phone at any star or planet in the sky and it will identify it for you. That's something you can do. Check it out. Plum another great thought. Thanks.

Thanks, Gordon, that sounds interesting. We have a great view of the sky on top of this bluff but the clouds are going to have to disappear, they have been around for a few days now. That's is one of the things I liked about coon hunting, the wide-open sky on a clear night.

I agree News is depressing for sure. If I do watch it every now and again it is also a way to realize how good you do have it. It sucks that most of what is displayed on news is really what's going on in your own country but realize how good you do have life.

I don't know about your news source but my local stations run the same stories at 4:00, 5:00 and 6:00 and then again at 10:00. They use the weather report as a teaser to keep you watching but our phones have better weather report that the stations. The National new channels are no better. We have stopped watch very much news since it has gotten so bad.

Find a hobby; tie flies, reload
ammo, clean your guns and/or fishing gear, peruse catalogs and plan your next gun/rod/reel purchase, check your finances
and plan a hunting/fishing trip if it's financially feasible ! Any/all these activities will keep you interested and occupied, which will help drive away
boredom !

If you can get the you tube apt on smart TVs or firebox watch some of the oldies but goodies movies. I watch rawhide the Lone Ranger red Ryder and other westerns. I like Dennis the menace and lots of others. Not like junk they have today.
