So tie that knot correctly, don't forget the PFD, insure the boat plug is in, and most of all Laugh at what you forgot to do.

All very true.

Have patience for the poor folks at the ramp that can not back up to save their souls.

A lot do good just to keep it between the lines going forward.

An old fellow has told me more than once :"Experience is the best education you will ever get. Unfortunately, it is the most expensive and the most painful."

Plumbob I’ve had that same teacher for a long time. I had that teacher just yesterday evening. I was sitting waiting on a deer to screw up and about halfway through that sit I realized I had chosen the wrong spot to sit. An hour later a nice doe came by on my right hand side and up pops her flag waving bye bye.

My grandson shot a huge doe yesterday which had a buck body. Field dresses around 200 pounds. Laying next to the doe my buddy shot you would’ve thought he shot this years baby!

Every year for the past 10 i have been putting my neighbors boat in for the summer and he brings it around to put it on the lift. Just the other day he said: what is he going to do next spring since i am moving?

Funny part is he can back it down his driveway turn it 90* into a spot, just can not go down a ramp. I guess we all have our limits.

My uncles had campers on their trucks so they put a hitch on the front bumper.

How in the world? Looks like he cut a section of the bumper folded it out and punched a hole for the ball.

Around here an average doe would be around 75 pounds dressed.

Now i see it, mounted where the license plate would go. Any extra bolting of the bumper to the vehicle required?

You can actually buy front hitches fir most tow vehicles . I used one for the cooler rack and rod holder I used surf fishing. Bolted up to the frame , then just use the usual slide in hitch. When you get to your launch site you just hook the boat to the front to launch. Much easier to steer it in, and has the added advantage of having your drive wheels away from the water.

Average doe here will dress out around 110-120 pounds. Grandson has a nack for finding and killing big does. His first after walking up on it I’m thinking this isn’t a doe. I was expecting to see nuts when I roll it over but nope, no nuts!

Not that I have seen, they just used 12 or 14 foot v bottom aluminum boats for limb lines and trout lines.
