I took my 8 year old granddaughter hunting today, and this was the first deer she’s ever seen harvested. I’ll never forget the excitement she expressed when it went down. I know it’s not the biggest buck around but today to her it’s a good buck she couldn’t wait to call her mom and dad and tell them.
Before anyone says to much, I need to explain I’m a non ambulatory hunter therefore I hunt from a vehicle. she was inside my truck until we drove up and looked it over. All I have to say is I’ll never forget this day and I’m pretty sure she won’t either
Good job.
I bet you're right about the memories.

Hey brother. If that's a legal buck then I'm proud of you both.
The joy on her face says it all.
Thanks for sharin this moment with us.
I'm sure it won't be her last buck either.
The most memorable hunts are when your kids get a deer while on stand with you. I’ve never been more excited than when my boys took their first deer by my side! You witnessed the best there is.

Very nice! Glad she could experience that with you. I remember my older daughter with a kill that she experienced. She was so curious about what everything was in the inners. The heart, the liver, the intestines, the lungs. Wanted to find out all about it. Was with her when she killed her first elk. Same felling. Was with the granddaughter when she killed her first bull elk. The excitement and happiness were the same as in your picture !

Now there is one Happy Grand Daughter!! I don’t care how big the horns are, I don’t eat those either. Congratulations on the new hunting partner, enjoy every min.

Oh ya I checked her and had her mom recheck her real good. ironically she’s already had Lyme’s it slowed her down but she’s bounced back.

Awesome photo. Great smile. Priceless
THATs what it’s all about.
Congrats to both if you
A smile like that is real, it's not staged. The look in her eyes says she's excited. A day that lil girl won't ever forget.

What did she use to take the buck?
243 I only put one round in at a time she’s been hunting wood chucks with me during the summer months

Definitely a flat shooter.
You ever get a chance to try a 17?
