December 27 it will be 4 years since I quit smoking. Went in hospital and basically died, was on life support for about a week, and since I was released I've never picked up another one. I can share your pride Denny. Congratulations.

Jan. 3 will be my 20 year celebration of quitting smoking. I too, was in the hospital for a few days, and when I got out, never had another puff. God is good!!
Congrats Denny and all others who have beat their addictions, either with or without God’s help.
I tried on my own and couldn’t do it. Just sayin’ ...... 🙏🏻

Congratulations. I stopped smoking in 1974. I caught strep throat and could not taste anything for a couple of weeks so I just never started smoking again was a blessing in a way

I've always respected people that know they need to quit and then can do it.

Good job

Good for you. You SHOULD be proud of yourself. That’s a great accomplishment if you ask me. 👍

Congrats to all of you. My best friend is coming up on 10 years sober next month. His long time girlfriend died a few weeks ago after a massive stroke. Tough times for him right now. The power of the human mind to adjust, make changes and come out better on the other side.

And not for the weak of heart. My daughter-in-law, at 37, was not one of the fortunate strong ones. She ended her like at the expense of a railroad engineer at a vehicle crossing. Left two young boys and my son to spend the rest of their life wondering what they could done different. Severe alcoholic with bi-polar disorder and was in denial. We all tried everything we could think of to save her. Paid for counseling she didn’t want to have, comforted her when she didn’t want it, talked to professionals which made her made when she learned we did that. She was not part of the team. Wonderful, beautiful, sole and an amazing wife and mother. She just didn’t think so. ☹️. She’s in a much better place now but none of the rest of us are. Especially the railroad engineer who had to watch it unfold right under his nose and he couldn’t do a thing to avoid it.
This is one reason you need to be very proud of yourself for what you are doing for your family and loved ones. It’s a hard cross to bear otherwise. My hat is off to you my friend. The addict is, generally, NOT the one who suffers. Thanks for being considerate of your family and all involved in your wonderful being. That includes all of us.
