Hey Guys heads up on a Email hacking. Here is how it happen.

Wife got an email from what looked like her cousins address. Everything looked legit.

Sender said he needed $ 400.00 for a gift in the form of a gift card and he will send her a check.

She responded by asking a question and the sender gave specific instructions.

She emailed who she thought was her cousin that she can not afford the $ 400 and never heard another word.

Today she starts getting responses concerning her illness and what does she need the $ 400 for.

By responding to the person he somehow got her email password and is sending out request in her name.

So something is going on with a scam / email hack. Really know who you are responding to is a must.

This was on our news last night but a different variation. The scammers hack an email account and send emails to various addresses asking for you to do a favor such as purchase a gift card and send it or the code on the back to the originator of the email. It may be from who you think is your boss or a family member or friend. Somehow they mask their real email address. They can also do it with phone calls making it look like another number. Some really fine people out there.

My wife worked retail and one of their big deals was Western Union. She probably helped prevent hundreds of people from sending Western Union Money to scammers. She educated all her employees to ask the right questions to those wanting to send money to someone they didn’t know. Most were elderly that could not afford to do it. My mom who is in her 90’s is always saying she wished she could help a grandson or a nephew but didn’t get their name just a a code or number to send it too. She finally knows to just hang up.

Yeah Paul, a job or a beating. I'd prefer the latter.

It pays to change your email password periodically as you never know which website you visit can be hacked.

I wish I could find where these scum live. There's a lot of desert here in Wyoming that no one has ever been.
