Fart sack? Haven't heard that one in a while. Can anyone tell me what it is? I first heard that expression right before I went into the Navy, from my future FIL who had been a SeaBee during WWII. Riding along on a little pleasure cruise to some hell hole in the PTO he had been issued a fart sack.

That's what we called the sack that covered your mattress in the Navy. We had 2" foam rubber mattresses.
