Good morning, new to the site and to the area of Athol Idaho.
Any suggestions on where to bank fish close to Athol Idaho. Thanks in advance.
Welcome to the thtage DrB. You're right by Thpirit Lake, why not try there? Got a friend who lives on his boat on Coeur d'Alene, but I don't know about bank fishing there. We do love photos.
Thanks, I appreciate your reply
Any advice for a newby on what to fish for and what to use at spirit lake?

Welcome to the Forum, Dale, thanks for putting your location down.
I did a little research and there is quite a variety in that lake. 4 years ago they introduced Chinook (king) salmon to try to improve the Kokanee fishing and add a little more variety. ¥ou probably won't catch either of those from the bank - Kokanee tend to be deep and the chinooks will hang around where the Kokanee are - to eat them, they're tasty. But there are trout in there and those can be caught from the bank. I can't advise you on particular spots, but if they have a marina there, the folks who run it can put you on the fish. If you're into
freezing off your hiney, I hear it's a great lake for ice fishing, and you will catch kings and kokes thru the ice. Dress warm

Hey Rick. Where do you live? Do you fish those lakes often?

Welcome to the stage Rick. I've fished over in your direction quite a few times over the past 20 years or so, but never either of those. I usually head up one of the passes.
