Do any of you crappie anglers use bite alerts? If yes, would you credit much of your success to them? Thanks.

most of the crappie I will catch this winter bite so soft & suttle a bite alert wouldn't be effective. Most of the crappie we're catching now in Fort gibson lake (just a short drive from you) are biting really lite. I use the tiny jigging spoon a lot & most hits are on the fall & it is easy to miss a few fish. I hope the bite gets better as the weather gets colder. Tight lines.
