Welcome to the Forum, L. I didn't fish it in 2020 but I did fish it in 1919. I don't think I will fish it again. It's a different type of lake. I'm an early mornin', until about 4:00 pm, walleye fisherman, and then it's beer time. At Devils Lake, it takes a fisherman that will do an early morning, like 3:00 am until sun up, then go back to the cabin, have breakfast, take a nap until about 3:00, eat supper and then go out fishing by 6:00 and fish until about midnight. That's not for me, but if you are going to catch walleye that is what you will have to do. If you are going to catch stripers or panfish, you can do that at any time. This was during the first of June, I guess it's better in the late Summer and early Fall.

Ya, they are fish up there, but the walleyes will not bite during daylight hours, stripers every cast if you find them, and they are not hard to find. Perch, sunnies, bass & slime dogs, if you find them. But like I said, I don't think I'll fish it again. Where are you from?

I have never ice fished it but my buddy has and he thinks it is a great place to ice fish. Tons of big perch. He is an ice fisher, I am not. He thinks it's the best ice fishing lake around the SD., ND., MN. area.

I know plenty of ice fishermen that ice fish Devils Lake. Lots of big yellow perch and many will fish walleye. Really can not find a better lake. Many fishermen from all surrounding states will travel to fish Devils Lake. My business partner that has past, went there to ice fish huge bluegill in the surrounding small lakes and sloughs. 1 - 2 pounds, as I remember
