Hi my name is Ron I am new here, and happy to be apart of all this , I have fished from Alaskas Kenai River to The Lake of the Cherokees in Oklahoma ,but recently I have had the pleasure of fishing for Chum Salmon ,something I have not encountered before in Oregon , and there seems to be a lot of mixed feelings as to whether it is good or not, so I thought I would get some input for you folks. Thank You

The NW Fishing blogs talk about them. Fun to catch, not the best table fare but they smoke up delicious. Caught fresh from the salt, they taste better. If your getting them, get a smoker.

I decided to oops try one and I have to say 100% hands down that I prefer the Chum smoked over a king anyday the flavor is not so strong and it really does make a big difference and I recommend that if you can get one to go for it
