This is my second year fishing and it took me this long just to learn casting baitcasters and spinning set ups, basic knot tying. I need help with locations near me as well as tips and how to fish. I'm basically hear to learn.

Welcome Rack0. There are a lot of knowledgeable folks on this site that are willing to help. Unfortunately, I'm not one of them. I have learned a lot on here in the last few months. I'm sure you will also! You will do better if you ask specific questions about the type of fishing that you are planning.

Rack0: Well, fisherman, you have come to the right place, there's a tremendous amount of knowledge advise and also a lot of bull shipping here.

I do nort personally have any knowledge of your area, but you can get there by several methods. The most effective and quickes is to hire a guide for half day in the area you think you'd like to continue to fish in, and pump him about all sorts of topics regarding how, when and where. This is the quickest way.

Next, go to the bait stand or tackle shop nearest to where you think you'd like to startr fising and pump them about these subjects. I personally stay away from kids, but there are some who know what they are talking about. Take notes.

What i usually do, is just go and try to figure it out for myself. If you don't own any tackle, then you will have to visit a shop for that. Take your time, don't blow you wallet at the beginning, you don't need to and certainly will not use all that most beginners buy, so take it slow. If you don't have a rod and reel, I recommend startring with one spinning combo. That will get you started and be enough for most anything
you will encounter.

Of course, if you could team up with an experienced fisherman, that would be a giant leap forwrd.

Just Sayhin....RJS

Welcome to the Forum, Rack0, thanks for putting your location down on the profile page. I can't help you with where to fish out there.

There's a lot of good water in the Philadelphia area.
