I've been to Henry's 3 times and I'm going back up Saturday. I fished the State marina Tuesday. It was slow. It has been fished hard for for a 3 weeks now. Eight or so inches of lumpy ice, and a bunch of slush under the ice. I got two cutthroats, one 2 pounds, one 2 1/2 pounds. I am going to try to get to my favorite spot Saturday, over by Staley Springs. It hasn't had more than 2 inches, but I think it is 3 inches now.
Nice fish and pics, but that just looks to cold for my thin blood. Thanks fast randy
I am with you plumbob way to cold for me too! God bless ya frozen randy and tight lines!
awesome!!
Wish we had enough ice to fish here
Nice fish Randy, I wouldn't push the ice to far. It doesn't end well. Just so ya know, this is what thin ice looks like. The hole is 11'×4' the dark spot in the middle is where I pulled my buddy out if the water. Not a fun day. Be careful.

Was it you that lost a 4 wheeler or a track machine last year through the ice Egg?
Yep, that was me, I jumped when my boots filled up with water the boys down low took over brain function and told the legs to JUMP they do not like cold water.lol. Henry wasn't as fast. His boys got soaked in ice water. But he was in neck deep. I pulled him out by the collar in his coat in about 5 seconds. Here's a pic of the machine it runs great for being in the lake for 93 days.

I was impressed when you posted that you got it out back then and now even more impressed that you saved a life in the process. Didn't remember reading that.
So any ice riding coming up this year? Henry up for it?

Oh heck yeah, we're all ready. Lol. Specially Henry. He's like a few in here, he goes every chance he gets and that's alot. I'm Gunna get a snow dog this year, there cheaper and lighter than a 4 wheeler but go real well on snow and ice. It's like a lawn mower on tracks. Look em up and watch the video.

You were right lawn mower on tracks " snowdog.com " sums it up well. Looks like it has 2 options what to stand on. Partial to the tub one myself.

Nice cutthroat and nice fish! Thanks for the report Randy. Good luck at Staley Springs.
Thanks bric. And Egghead, I'm carefull. Those Snowdogs are cool. But if you stand in your sled, then you need to pull another sled with your gear.
Looks like Polaris 75 years ago.
