Hello. I just moved to Gwynn's Island in Mathews County Virginia. I like to fish the Chesapeake Bay and it's tributaries around the island as well as Mobjack Bay and it's tributaries. Hope to learn more about fishing in this area from folks who fish this area. 🎣

If you goto windmill point where the rapp meets the Chesapeake you will kill’em... I had a boat out of Urbana and died the rapp hard and also the piankatank. If you go back into the piankatank it will turn brackish and some real good species there!

What do you fish for at Windmill Point this time of year?
And how far up the Piankatank do you need to go and what species are you catching up there?

specks, rockfish/strippers, and reds around windmill. I fish the piankatank where it turns into Dragon Run just pass the wire lines that cross the river around storefront area (Saluda) crappie, Pearce, bass and several other species.

I just spoke with my cousin who lives in Saluda and he said they were killing a bunch of fish under the rte.3 bridge at grays point into the tasting room restaurant

Great! I caught some stripers and a puppy drum around Stingray point yesterday. Only one striper was a keeper but the puppy drum was also a keeper.
