I live on a smallish, 300 acre lake, and wondering if an electric motor on my 15' row boat would be as good as a small gas motor. What are the pluses and negative thoughts. If I choose the electric motor what size.

A 300 acre lake isn't a bad sized lake and a 15' boat is about right for a 15 - 25 hp outboard. What size is the hp rating on the boat. It will be listed on the inside of the stern.
If you plan to use it at different lakes/ponds and know their regulations it might help make your decision. They have some electric/battery that are as fast or faster than a small gas outboard. Would not have to carry and mix when you would already have a designated battery(s). Look at price and up keep of each to help in your decision.

Have always used both. You can do well with a 45-55 pound thrust electric motor with a Marine 12 volt battery. A 10 hp gas motor will do all you need on that size boat in fishing.
Do you need to run fast? Outboard stink pot will work! Electric runs great trolling around and no pollution! Some lakes require no gas combustion engines too. Have both fast to get me there and slower Rip-Tide 55 pound thrust to sneak up on fishy locations.
No winterizing the electric that’s why I got one

I have a 55 thrust on my 12 ft boat
Works great until the wind blows then it has a real hard time
