Jackson Meadows Ca

Tried to get back in to Jackson Meadows this afternoon for a last session of fishing, lots of snow on the road. As I got closer to the lake the snow got deeper. The temp. was 36 degrees and falling as I got nearer the lake. Even though I was in a 4 wheel drive car with all season tires I turned around about 5 miles from the lake right before several long grades that I would have had to climb to get out. Didn't want to take the risk of having difficulty getting out in the evening as the temp dropped and the road froze. I'm guessing that the road will be closed soon, next storm in will do it for sure!

Hey Steph, where are you in the Tahoe area?
We have a place on South Shore.

I have a place near Truckee but live full time in Reno. I've fished the Tahoe area for 40+ years and know all the lakes in the area
, don't do much stream or river fishing.

I use to fish the Truckee River below Boca Lake and caught some great fish. Have fished Boca and some of the others over there a few times.
Course, that was nearly 40 years ago.
Sure doesn't seem that long ago.

Smart move on your behalf. Wouldn’t want to have to walk out of there.

Just got back being skunked on the Truckee.
I like fishing below Boca dam, Frenchmen lake, and Davis lake. Donner lake in the spring before it gets busy.
I just retired a year ago and took up fishing. So now if I’m not riding my bike I’m fishing.

I went to Davis after getting closed out at Jackson the other day, got there a little before 4 p.m. and fished until dark, nothing! The only good news is I was the only one there, (Mallard Cove), and the sunset was spectacular.
