Greetings All,
This is the first time I've posted to this forum. I have another "What's the best lure" question. I live in Northern Virginia and would like to know what the best lures are for bass and crappie. I understand that folks use jigs for crappie but there are so many with different colors etc that it seems like a crap shoot deciding (no pun intended).
I have many mepp spinners that seem to work on anything anywhere in the world, but was wondering it there might be better options.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
I fish NOVA a good bit and have good luck with jigs, crank baits, Ned baits, and frogs. I mostly fish the Potomac but do also catch a lot of lakes in area.
Mainly Occoquan Reservoir or River - putting in at Occoquan Regional Park or Fountainhead or Bull Run.
Sometimes Potomac - but water quality is a problem.
You ever fish around the Yates Ford and Davis Ford bridges? I fished them years ago but haven’t been back
I fished out of the Bull Run Marina right at Yates Ford bridge 40 some odd years ago. I remember fishing for carp with corn on a hook just for the fun of it - they put up a good fight.
I've driven over Davis Ford bride many times recently and the whole area looked good - no one fishing there. I have a canoe so I don't think it would not be an option.
