I participated in the NATC this weekend at Collins Lake in California, north of Sacramento. Weather was nice except for the rain on both Friday and Saturday night and the snow at noon on Sunday!!!
After the first day, I was in the top 20 out of over 100 anglers. (19th) On Saturday, I caught 2 trout and caught and released 2 spotted bass. My heaviest trout was 2.97. Caught on a Berkley Flicker Shad. My other one was caught on a small gold Kastmaster. The biggest fish was 7.6 which won the angler over $1000. On Sunday, I only caught one small trout and got knocked out of the top 20 by 1/2 lb!. Sunday was a slow day for mostly everyone. All in all, a great tournament weekend with great people and great staff at Collins Lake!
Until the next tournament at San Pablo Reservoir, next February!!!
First trout caught on Kastmaster
1st Spotted Bass caught on KastMaster
2nd Spotted Bass caught on Flicker Shad
2nd Trout (2.97 lbs) caught on Flicker Shad.
Looks like you had a good time. Thanks for the photos. Where abouts did you catch them trout?

And you were fishing out of your kayak?
Thanks, Bric! I just enjoy fishing. Been doing it since I was 3. 58 now, so lots of experience. LOL!
