Had the arsenal of seven rods ready for this morning. Cloudy overcast 62-70 degrees water 59-61; great conditions. However, the fish had other ideas. I spent six hours on the water. While I caught a limit of fish, plus ten shorts I could not get a pattern together.

If that ain't eight rods I'll eat your shorts. Still a nice picture and sounds like a pretty nice day. Thanks.

Seven rods and a sissy stick (spinning rod). My bad. Just keeping you on your toes—Spirit.

Pattern or not, looks like a great day to me Eye. I couldn't buy a fish today. In your honor I even broke out an old Hammered Blade Spinnerbait. No luck. Dropped a couple, on a fluke and a stick worm, and missed a few good hits, but it was a beautiful 75° day. Water was 52°in the morning, warmed up to 55° by the afternoon.

Fred- I threw the spinner quite a bit today and did not have a bump. With that 52-55 degree water i would look at a jerk bait (match the hatch) and a rattle trap. Especially on sunny days. Good luck.

Thanks Eye,I did throw a Rip Stop and a Strike King KVD in bone white, due to stained water, with no takers. I'll definitely try a Rattle Trap next time. I almost tried trolling one today (works on Stripers, for Saw).

I see you’ve got a G Loomis spinner bait rod. I’ve got one that’s 7 foot 2” and absolutely love it for throwing all sorts of baits. Though you may not have found a set pattern I’d say you still had a pretty good day

From your photos, it looks like you have a pattern started. Am I correct in assuming those are all surface lures with the fish? Was there any similarity in catch location?

Two were top water fish. One was in 18” of water in the back of a cove with’a Creek in it; the other top water fish was in a main lake cut off a channel swing bank in 12” of water next to log. The third one was a rogue (jerk bait) that came from a dock well off the main lake in 30’ of water. No set locations or pattern.

Judging by the pro look of the equipment on your boat you'll be the one to figure out a pattern eventually.
Get er done!
