Old man rattling-got shooting docks learned. Ugly Stick Light (ultra light action), Bobby Garland pull tabs, 4lb high vis line, small / light weight reel (lime green Lews). Practice, practice, practice be for going to lake. Pull tabs work great for me. Use same anchor point every time. One of the most important things is hold the line barely on side of index finger, I also waxed the chrome at reel seat, allows smother release / didtance & accuracy. Good shooting, Old Man Style

Like skipping jigs under docks. But more accurate

I've been practicing and have shot a few docks on the lake. Technique is improving but haven't caught anything yet. Maybe it's the wrong time of year for crappie under docks? I'm guessing that they have moved to deeper water.
In GA they are active under docks. The lake I fish is Wedowee Alabama, about 20 miles west of GA line.
Looked up "B.G. pull tabs", having no idea what they were... now I know..... for folks who can't keep from snagging their fingers !
Guess "crutches" come in all forms, huh ?
WELL AT 70 THIS IS A GREAT CRUTCH--INCREASED MY DISTANCE ANS ACCURACY --- CATCH RATE INCREASED
PS: had to pull my side by side to dock to take fish to cabin--all from shooting docks my wife & I caught 56 keepers, all over 13 inches in 3 hours + - 20 minutes.
probably caught 75 to 80------ crutches role in WEDOWEE AL
PS: TRY THEM MY FRIEND--- YOU MIGHT BE SHOCKED--I USE THE REFLECTIVE TABS
I usually wait till something is broken before trying to fix it, thanks anyway. If it helps you, that's what matters.
"Taut" lines !
