Hope that works for you Ben. If they want your business they will accommodate.

After 2 failures with my auto inflating vest I took it back in to Bass Pro & was told that due to liability they could do nothing, not even install a new cartridge if i bought it. I think a person should wear a life jacket that he feels comfortable in & with. I just feel my old Stearns jacket fills that bill for me.

As far as I know, all the auto-inflated vests have the manual pull handle. If you install a new cartridge, and leave out the little "auto " sensor, then you have a manual vest. You can attach a "kill switch" type lanyard to the boat, and the manual handle,to trigger it if you go overboard.

Never could figure out a way for a lanyard to be attached and out of my way for fishing. Its a good
idea but how do you have one and not be in the way? Smarter people out there than me. I am asking for suggestions. Thx

Sounds like they were aware of the reloading problem and didn't want to get stuck with the cost either.

The very reason I bought the manual version, Onyx brand. The idea of an automatic is not practical if you are fishing either side of whitewater (splash factor !)or in the rain.....both scenarios quite common here in Oregon.
Just for piece of mind, I "wasted" a cartridge when I first bought it....proved to myself that it works and I now trust it, even wear it while wading larger streams and certainly while fishing swift, cold rivers..... don't ever want to be "that guy" you read about and then shook your head in disbelief at the cavalier attitude some folks have about water safety.
Was co-captain of my swim team in H.S., ran community swimming pools during college summers, taught Red Cross swimming lessons and WSI, Boy Scout Swimming and Lifesaving merit badge counselor, still use swimming as my main form of regular fitness exercise (or should say...will continue to, if/when they re-open the pool at my fitness center !)...... yet I ALWAYS WEAR A LIFEJACKET while on ANY boat, large or small.
Just be safe out there !!
