There's a lovely dock in point Judith Rhode island and every summer the beaches fill up. So you drive down to the dock after getting all your gear set up and buying bait, and low and behold there's 30+ people set up on the dock with beach chairs, umbrellas, little kids running around. Right behind the sign that says fishing only no swimming blah blah blah. It really pisses me off, the environmental police seem to not care because I've seen them drive down and not do anything about it. Have you ever dealt with anything like this?

Closest was a Sunday morning after a long night of fishing. I motor up to the launch ramp just wanting to load and get home to my bed and low and behold a whole local church had decided to hijack the ramp for their baptism party.
I was not very polite to them.

I go fishing to get away from people so I just avoid these spots. But if is says no swimming I'd just start fishing and be dick to anyone who tries to give me guff about it.

Same with people who use the boat ramp as a beach. Not really much you can do except ask them to move and make it obvious you're being inconvenienced.

Yup ,just back your boat up and keep going they will cuss you ,but they will move. Then when you come in throw your bucket of old bait water on the dock ,they wont want to use it and the fisher people will under stand and not care about a little dead bait smell .
If you dont have a boat ,just take your stuff out on the dock and find a spot and start fishing . Leave some bait out on the dock ,the flys will come ,they will move or leave Dont give up your fishing space ,call the cops and show them the sign ,fishing only and have them run the people off . I have done this and it works .We have to fight for our fishing rights ,so dont give up ,go fishing !!!!
