Something about the snell knot is just so pleasing to me, my go to flipping knot.
Benefits of using snell knot vs palomar knot for straight shank?

Snell knot causes your hook to pop out more on the hookset. There’s lots of speculation as to whether that’s actually a benefit or not, I believe palaniuk made a video specifically about it. I think it’s really just personal preference. It does help protect your knot a bit from the tungsten hitting it. But I say go with what you’re most comfortable with really.

Rubix is right, when you look at how the line comes through the hook eye here when you pull on it the hook is going to come up instead of possibly rolling sideways and it can be a benefit. I also like how the weight sits on the hook with a smell versus a normal palomar.

This is exactly why I tie a snell for flipping, any knot on top of the eye is going to take a beating when flipping with 1oz or bigger weights. I’ve always been skeptical about wether or not it changes the angle of pull or increases hookup/lost fish ratios. I’ve only used the snell for the last 6 years and lose about as many fish as I did the previous 18 years.

Will a snell knot work better with an offset hook eye?
