I think Carlos Hathcock was one of the best if not the GREATEST sniper ever. It was not only shooting skills, but being one with the environment and slithering in creeks etc to get in position to shoot.. I also read the book "Marine Sniper" which was great. I would have loved to meet him and study under him!

I also should add like he said, those above don't understand Snipers and their value. After WW1, WW2, and Korea, our military leaders and Politicians let the skill go. In Viet Nam they didn't have a Sniper rifle and scope, so our shooters would call home for their family to send them a rifle suitable such as a Winchester Model 70 or a Remington 700 in .30-06 (I think that is the correct model) and a good target scope like the Unertal target scope that you can see in the video. The same for War Dogs! Now some thinkers have reversed that policy. One lone sniper can tie down a large enemy group.

They now shoot a 300 win/mag. It shoots the same bullet as the 30.06 and .308, but with a flatter trajectory. Snipers are sneaky, scary people.
