Stained water I would try chart and yellow first. Sunny day, shiny metallics. Dawn,dust,night with moonlight use black. Those are mostly based on bass behavior but I suspect they apply. Best thing about rainbows the can break water more often than browns or brookies. I never target them except to see what’s earound. Got a friend that appreciates trout, he just loves them. Otherwise I’m C & R. Unless fish is injured. nutz4fish
