This pump has been the topic of alot of bad information. First of all its a very good design. Also the only changes in the pump itself is the material they use in the diaphragms. The old material did not hold up against methanol fuel and failed. Omc corrected this problem and did it very well.I have a 1993 johnson 140 and i use this pump on my motor and the only thing that I have found is in the cold of alaska will gel the oil and a alarm will go off. The fix for this is to add some raw gas in the oil tank a very small amout. This system is bullet proof.Brp the new omc still uses this pump on new 2 strokes. The ricky Sitka
Well, bullet-proof is a pretty strong recomendation. Just Sayin...RJS
Hope you don't have to replace that pump that is a very expensive, I replaced one on a 115 evinrude and it was about a $600 item.
Evinrude pump must be a lot more than a Yamaha pump
