The chicken vs egg conundrum.

How many times have you heard the debate over which came first, the chicken or the egg?

I read the technical paper by an evolutionary biologist in the early 1980s that answered the question once and for all.

In biology organisms evolve by spontaneous mutation. The ancestor to our modern chicken was a pair of birds that were not chickens but had very similar genes, ie: “one switch short of a chicken”.

The near-chicken birds produced a mutated egg that was the modern chicken egg.
It’s genes were stable enough to never mutate again. The conundrum is solved.

There is only one problem my little pea brain is stuck on. If there isn't two eggs how can there be any chickens? Chickens do require a male and a female for procreation don't they?

Steve that's why the mutated chicken crossed the road. To get to the other egg. Mystery solved.

Me and my son went fishing on Thursday. He caught 3 green sunfish lost a bass just as he was pulling it in. Then on the catfish rod, he just about lost the pole. It was all bent over tile the pole started moving up in the rod holder. He grabbed the pole and he was reeling the big fish in when the line broke.
For me a great big 0. SKUNKED
Sorry no pic's
