Thanks

If you find any of those schools of Shad in a frenzy on the surface, throw a weightless fluke in there and you'll be yelling Fish On!

Hi,

I will offer the information below but first let me say the water level is down 4 to 5 feet so you need to be very careful. I normally fish from Lake Point North. Some areas around the ramp at Lake Point have no water so That’s out.
Going North you will find creeks and pockets. Pockets are good all the time and the creeks have been good. The mouths of them for sure. Some have ledges and if you find them stacked up it is easy pickings if you are good at vertical jigging a spoon. If not, Carolina Rig can work, Green PK Red. Any of these pockets with blow downs, stumps etc. can produce on topwater early as they have deep water close.
I hate the bait, Rattle Trap but it works! Also, a no weight Fluke is killer. If you find pads and grass Fluke is the way to go. I like to river fish as I have always felt these fish are less affected by weather. If you keep going North the river will become very bluffy. A lot of the banks drop very quickly, AKA bluffy. Many have timber that is stacked right on the bank line. I like to drop a jig on them. If you try have good line. You will need to see what is working best that day as I like to use a heavy jig with trailer with a lot of action but some days, they want a light jig that drops very slow. Dark colors have worked best for me. Root Beer is about the lightest color I ever use.

Hope this helps and be very careful! Water is way down!
