Sorry Fred,
We are getting rain now, but the pressure system may push it N into Canada.

Too bad we haven’t developed a system to distribute water to those who need it during drought or fire conditions. The midsection of the country has had more than our fair share of precipitation and those in the W, NW and NE could sure use some.

Well if you can get to the water the fishing should be good, but it must be a little disturbing to watch it keep getting lower.

Yeah Jwid, the bridge, and lower ramp photos were taken from the "old " route 8. An interstate road from Bridgeport CT.up to Searsburg VT. It's now normally about 10-20 ft under water. There's a good amount of stocked Trout, Smallmouth, and Largemouth, and panfish. Probably pretty concentrated now, but the Corps will be locking the gate soon, if not already. It won't reopen till Trout season next spring. When its this low it's a hike down to the water, and mud and rocks to sit on. Kinda like bank fishing on the Moon.LOL

our local lake, lake Fort Gibson, is also a Corp of Engineers lake & it has been drawn down so low that most of the boatramps are closed. Made some good fishing below the dam but fishing in the lake sucks. I haven't seen that lake so low in 30 years. The Corps has provided no explanation.

If the day got anymore decent you'd have to grow more arms to carry the fish home.

That WV Mike is always pulling a stunt like that. It doesn't bother him 1 bit to post a picture of a good fish, turkey kill or whatever. The man is good.

Very nice catch. I know you enjoyed your day. Thanks for getting me excited for my smallmouth trip next April.
I'm sorry to hear about your lake draw downs but out here where I live it's so routine you don't blink an eye anymore. The deeper lakes are down up to 100ft or more and the shallow lakes more than half empty. They used to manage the water releases for the fish but now it's all about ag and providing water to people hundreds of miles away. The State is currently looking at building tunnels in the California delta (#5 best bass fishery in the US for the last decade) that will take away the fresh watet before it hits the ocean. I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer and it's so obvious to me they are going to destroy the delta. Water is damn near like oil out here.

WVMike- you are one bada$$ fisherman. Between you and Saw1 I’m surprised there are still fish out there for the rest of us. Nice catch as usual! Catch some more and send pictures. I would like to remember what fish look like.
