Quality ball Bearing swivel, if the spinner is REALLY hateful you put a dropper line and small weight ahead of the swivel, good luck !

Swivels. Try taking your hard baits and spoons off at the end of the day and letting your line out behind the boat with a light weight or swivel behind the boat. That unravel the line.

I was thinking one or the other, not both. I like your thoughts of the small weight best. Rockford IL. I used to run out of Waukegan IL for Kings, lakers, cohoโ€™s etc.

Trolling rudder in between line and leader. Available in clear and colors or you can make your own out of metal cans.

All swivels are not created equal. I have gone to P-Line's rolling swivels and swivel snaps, almost exclusively. The quality is far superior to cheaper brands like Danielson, Eagle Claw, etc., and some "bead-chain"-types, and therefore, perform the task better.
I often double up two in a row, especially if I am using a dodger or a flasher. The ones I use most frequently on trolling rigs are P-LINE'S #7---48lb rated 3-roller inlines, small enough to add virtually no excess weight, short enough to not tangle.
I know many folks like to tie directly to the lure, without a swivel or snap swivel, claiming sensitivity loss and some claim failure of snaps (unbuckled under stress). I would question both premises, as long as you use quality hardware...my 2ยข.

like has been mantioned before, get a rudder which will have a small hole on the bottom that you can put a small leader and weight that will keep it from spinning so the only thing that would try to twist is the part behind the rudder which you can solve, but not your main line. They come in many colors including chromed for flash attractant.

Good info. Iโ€™d like to see some pictures of your line rigging. I used to fish the Great Lakes and now the gulf. This info maybe useful here fir Kings (mackerel).
