I live in Northern Virginia and I have a couple of good ponds but I don’t wanna overfish them. How do I find good spots? I don’t have a boat so I only bankfish and don’t say fish brain because that app is garbage.

Fish brain can be a really good tool depending on how many people use it in your area, but what I do is simply go on google maps and use trial an error as an indicator as to weather i ever fish there again. Thats how you find spots many people may not know about, you can use the word of mouth from other people all day and yet show up to an over fished crowded spot.

Every time I’ve used fishbrain there have been people there or baits everywhere and garbage. They’re always over populated.

That’s the way it is, gotta dig into google maps and find the hidden treasures people don’t know about even if it’s the same pond/lake find another access point.

Do your homework! Trial and error is a good one to eliminate non-productive spots first. Scouting areas for other fishing activities and google earth views of lake points to deeper drop offs. You will get a second sense for hot spots after some homework!
For sure Google maps . And ask around at stores that sell bait and tackle in the best way .
