Freezing weather and soft plastics

I was cleaning out the boat today to get ready for winter. Here in northern Michigan the winters are cold and snowy. I loaded my wagon with all the soft plastics in the boat and put it in the garage. Tonight we got our first heavy frost and I was thinking about all that money setting in an un-heated garage all winter.
Can I leave the soft plastics in the garage this winter or should I bring them in the house?
How do soft plastics hold up to being frozen? Will the freezing hurt the baits? Yes I know they ice fish with soft plastics but that is really a very short period of time. I am talking 5 months with a couple of months with temps below freezing and sometimes below zero. Any help or info will be highly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

Welcome to the Forum, Kelly, I don't know if I can recall ever leaving my tackle any where it could get frozen. It always goes in the basement. I would doubt that if the plastics would freeze, that it would hurt them.

You know, that's a good question. I've wondered about that myself with my Gulp baits. We will have several days every winter that go down below 10*. I haven't noticed any ill effects but I still wonder.

I would bring them in the house, you never know what a could happen after they've been frozen solid, they could come out mushy after they thaw or they could be fine, wouldn't wanna lose them though

Well, I have soft plastics in my ice fishing sleds all year it stays in my enclosed trailer in the winter ready to go. It gets chilly here as well
--50and lower below freezing most if the winter until March I've never had to throw away any lures or baits cuz of the cold. Your good.

If you are concerned about freezing of soft plastics, why not put one in your freezer and then check it? I don't believe you have a problem, but run your own test. Just Sayin....RJS

Dang why didn't i think of that. I am going to throw some in the freezer and see what happens. Then I will report what happened to it. Thank you all for your replies. They are all helpful.

Freezing shouldn't be a problem. The freezing point of water for instance, is mostly irrelevant to other substances.
