I’m going to fish a 3 acre farm pond that has shad and adequate brush around the edges. Owners told me there are 10+lb fish in there. If I’m just wanting to catch linkers is swimming a chunky shad swim bait a decent approach?

If I know anything about bass it's that they'll hit anything that's their size or smaller, whether it's predation or territorial instinct. I'd bet money it'll work.
