I am going fishing in central Canada at the end of may. The lake we will be on is known for large lake trout. And we do most of our fishing normal casting(not trolling or ice fishing). everywhere I look on the internet just says go deep and be flashy and to troll or ice fish. My question to all of you is there a guild setup for regular casting?

Doesn't matter if shore fishing or trolling, My best choice would be a Rappala Husky Jerk About 6 inches long Blue on top, Caught my 18 lber. on one in Canada. And yes run as deep as you can. Only advantage to trolling in boat is if you get snagged up you can go to the snag and usually recover lure.
