Trout baits to throw on spinning gear?

It seems like all power bait products gets swallowed deep, and I want something I can use to still catch fish, but not kill the fish. Problem is, outside of a few small inline spinners I don't have much. Anything you can recommend?

Kastmasters work wonders.

You can also use the old earthworm and split shot rig.

There are a million different styles sizes and colors of trout spoons made in Japan and available on ebay. Just search “trout spoon” and you will find a ton of them.

Try small circle hooks if you are using powerbait. Should prevent them gut hooking.

This is going to sound crazy, but it works - and well. I can cast a fly a mile.

Turn your spinning rod into a fly setup.

Take a rapala that float and take off the hooks and use that as a float and tie a 3 to 4 ft leader to a fly.

Often fish come up and hit the rapala or look at it and then notice the fly and crush it.

You can leave 1 siwash hook on the rapala in case the do try to hit it, but I don't like hooks in my arm so I take em off.

Normal float scares trout - rapala brings them in or they seem indifferent.
