They are a great sport fish though. Very good fight, very aggressive, greedy, and fun to target. And if they are young and from clear water, they make great table fair!

Utah lake where it’s unlimited is very shallow and the whole lake is murky. I haven’t heard anything good from them. But I’ve never been fishing to Utah lake before, for said reasons.

Ya, I wouldn't eat them if that's the case. Better to go with eating panfish if choosing to eat fish from stained water. They have less mercury and other pollutants in their flesh because they are lower down in the food chain.
