I also added my Crab Davit. ( 12v crab Crane). Same thing if anyone wants a 12v Crab Crane... let me know. They are about 1/3 or 1/4 the cost of a good unit. I went to the guy that makes them. Over 400 for a 4 Brush motor. Under 4 for a 2 brush motor. Shipping is a whole other story. Similar favors are 1200 bucks.

The knives are hand made. He gets blades from Sweden I think the rest including the leather is all hand crafted. I give them as gifts.

“1/3 or 1/4 the cost of a good unit”? Why not just pay more and get a “good unit”?

I have many knives from the guy that made these. I use them for gifts. I started a tradition at my house. Everyone that comes here for Christmas get a knife. Usually the knives that everyone get are more of pocket type knives but I usually give real nice one to someone if I draw someone that will like a nice knife.

I been taking blood thinner since around 1986 but that hasn't kept me from having a bunch of good knives & the stuff to keep them sharp. 2 things I believe. A man can't have too many good knives & a dull knife will get you cut. I have a friend who's been on the program Forged in Fire twice. He's quite a character & he makes a good knife.

Not sure. You just said they’re cheaper than a “good unit”. Made it sound like they weren’t good.

If you research Crab Gavits you will see all different types. many 12v types are at the height of gunnel or 6 inches above it. You get to lean over and pull pot or trap up on deck still. There is some that are up high similar to what I have that are well over 1000 bucks or 2 or 3G bucks. I bought one for a little over 400 bucks that is custom built by hand. His uncle made them and told him he should do it too. In Seattle Washington area ( salt water everywhere up there ). The uncle died but now this guy makes them. Way better deal and super duty with the trap or pot up in air 4 or five feet from base of gavit ( crane) Im happy happy happy. I also do NOT buy shirts with an insignia on them to spend three times as much for a cheap a... shirt that wil end up with fish guts or crab bait on it anyway. I don't drive BMW or other show pieces just to think im cool or give a crap what anyone else thinks. I have plenty to do to not spend effort or money on that crap.
